We Never Stand Still (Unless We’re Parked)
Purchased with monies from the Nevada Humane Society, Reno, Sparks and Washoe County, this specially designed unit serves many functions.
During the week, it is parked at Reno Animal Services where it is used by contract veterinarians to spay/neuter/vaccinate and treat minor illnesses and injuries.
On the weekends, the Society takes the unit on the road: for off-site adoptions, low-cost vaccination clinics & low-cost spay/neuter surgery clinics.
Additionally, the Society activates the unit in the event of a disaster for animal evacuation, triage or housing. It was staged at the Command Post during the recent Waterfall Fire and was ready to move at direction of the Incident Commander during the Andrew Fire.
This vehicle allows the Society to extend its work beyond the shelter walls. If you are interested in volunteering for our adoption events or vaccination clinics, please contact Suzy O’Neal at (775) 331-5770.
