
Special Events Support
Service Identification | Reports to the Volunteer Services Director with the Special Events Coordinator.
Purpose/Goals of this position | To enhance the function of the Special Events Department by assisting in any/all of the following: Miracles on the River, Vet in a Box, the Grand Opening Celebration, Educational Events, and Entertainment Auction/Awards Banquet and the Telethon. This is accomplished by having the desire to work in a fast-paced environment with the public.
Essential Functions | Actively participating in events which may include the following: standing or sitting for long periods of time, bending, stooping, lifting and/or reaching for supplies, exposure to inclement weather, functioning at a fast pace and employing good communication skills.
Responsibilities | The duties include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Cash handling/selling items.
- Stocking supplies.
- Greeting and/or directing guests.
- Filling out forms.
Restrictions | A special events support person is restricted from the following:
- Giving animal or medical advice to customers/guests.
- Being in an unassigned area without permission.
- Handling animals.
- Handling cleaning suppies, treatments or lotions.
- Having friends or family members in your assigned areas.
- Adopting a pet within the first 3 months of service.
