The Nevada Humane Society Volunteer Program is a vital factor in our success. We greatly appreciate your willingness to help us achieve our mission of creating a no-kill community.

All individuals 18 years of age and older are eligible to volunteer with us. Those who are 16 and 17 may volunteer unsupervised with parent or guardian permission. Those under 16 may volunteer with a pre-approved supervising adult volunteer. All volunteers must attend one of our monthly volunteer orientations and complete the Volunteer Agreement and Liability Release. These meetings will give you an overview of our organization, relevant guidelines and processes, and a tour of our facility.

You may download a Volunteer Application from this page and submit it to our shelter at any time. The second page outlines volunteer needs that range from office work to professional services to hands-on animal care and socialization, both in the shelter and in foster homes. Specific training and instruction will be provided as needed for all volunteer tasks.
